Meet Paula.

I did not grow up raising sheep, in fact, I truly believed I was a city girl misplaced in the country. But you know, life is the way it is. After many years in NYC, it turned out that I was really a citified artist with farm girl aspirations.

Farming is my second career. I have been a shepherd since 2007. Prior to that, I was a mural painter in the interior design industry for 25 years. I lived many years in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, a mecca for young artists around the world. Call it a mid-life crisis, but there came a time when I needed to do something different, something that connected my sprit to the earth. Raise sheep! Why not? They are the perfect animal, possessing fiber (and all its creative potential), milk, meat (if that's your thing),a built in lawn mower, and serene grace. We had this wonderful land, and I really wanted to put it use.

So… with the support of my family, I am fortunate to combine my lifelong love, of art, growing things, nature, and crafting into a beautiful second life named White Barn Farm
